How do I book a boat?
When do I pay for my booking?
We ask for a 50% deposit when you make a booking and the remainder when you arrive. We accept cards or cash.
I’m coming to Cornwall for a couple of weeks but not sure which day we want to take a boat out; do we have to book in advance?
The earlier the better, to avoid disappointment, particularly if you are interested in our launch or the Leisure 20, as we only have one of each of those boats.
What happens if the weather is awful?
If we have to cancel your session, due to high winds or poor visibility, we will refund your deposit. If you decide to cancel because it is a little bit drizzly, you will forfeit your deposit.
I don't have any experience; will I be able to handle a boat?
Our motorboats are pretty simple to use and we go through all the handling instructions with you before you set off.
I can sail but don't have my certificates with me; will I be able to hire a sailling boat?
We don’t ask to see your certificates but we do ask you to sign a form saying you are competent, experienced and happy to operate the boat you are hiring.
Are there places for us to stop?
There are plenty of different places to stop in the area: pubs, visitor pontoons and beaches. If there is somewhere in particular you would like to stop do ask us, as certain spots are dependent on the tide.
Can we fish from the boat?
You are allowed to fish, although we don’t have any equipment for hire. The chandlery sells equipment and bait but do bring your own rods if you have them.
Are babies allowed on board?
Yes, we have a range of life jackets to fit everyone, from newly born babies to the tallest of adults.
Are dogs allowed on board?
Yes, we have our own little salty sea dog and we welcome yours too… as long as it’s reasonably friendly! We don’t provide doggie lifejackets though.
